as the legislative future of our country is concerned.Maybe a minute was adequate for that story, but in contrast to the 7 and a half minutes they spent on the death of Johnson and Johnson former heiress, Casey Johnson it is pretty telling of where most people's heads are, and it is at least a little scary. They made a giant story of this relatively non-contributing member of society, including excerpts from interviews not deemed television worthy before she died, and of course web cam clips from she and her fiance,
Tila Tequila. They also brought in a hack relationship therapist to say that the parents, in light of their daughter's publicized death, probably did the wrong thing in cutting her off when she repeatedly relapsed in her fight with addiction. Where was Terry Real (douche bag publicity whore masquerading as an expert) when Johnson was alive?I didn't know anything about Casey Johnson before she died, and I am not all that interested in finding out more about her because she is dead. I'll also reserve judgment on the family since I have no clue what relationship they had with their daughter and I honestly feel sorry for their loss.
I would however love to be more informed about the change up in our federal legislative system, if the change matters, more probably, why it doesn't matter, and what we as well informed media consumers and active citizens could do to change it.
No, fuck it, I'll just buy some more stuff.
On a more positive note, iTunes genius play list hit Brian Eno's "Slip Dip" from The Drop spot on, so I am listening to some great random songs while I kick out some more corporate propaganda. I am not listening to John Cougar Smith Jacob Jingleheimer Mellow Mellencamp's "Ain't that America."
